Franchisees honoured at the Great to Work With Awards 2019
The Top 5 and their partners, who are all celebrating a free trip to the USA
We've recognised the top performing Mac Tools franchisees at its Great to Work With annual awards in categories from highest annual sales to best newcomer, with winners enjoying boosts to their business as well as overseas trips for their achievements.
Mike Cheffings was named the network’s overall Franchisee of the Year for a record-breaking fourth consecutive time after another spectacular year in business. The Stockport-based franchisee has made the award his own thanks to consistent sales growth and his commitment to the brand.
Joining Mike in the Top 5 Annual Performance awards this year were Richard McGarvey (County Down), Matt Richmond (Coventry), Ollie Mullan (Coleraine) and Claudio Zanobini (Exeter).
All five were awarded a free trip to USA Tool Fair for themselves and their partner, along with financial rewards for themselves and their business.
Mike said: “I’m honoured. It’s hard work but you can’t beat being independent and being your own boss. Having the chance to meet and chat with franchisees in the US is an amazing experience, I’ll be doing my best to be back again next year too!”
Trevor Cook (Nottingham South) took home two accolades, including the prestigious Mac Man of the Year award. Given to a true brand ambassador, the award recognises exceptional standards in five key Mac attributes: attitude, activities, application, appearance and approach. He also took home the Top Mac Credit Award 2018 for topping the credit sales charts across the UK network.

Rookie of the Year – for the best new franchisee – went to Nick Cobb in Reading. Based on dedication to the brand as well as great sales performance, Nick edged out strong competition from across the country after receiving nominations from Mac’s field management team.
The Sales Numbers Award winner is drawn at random from all franchisees with consistently high average sales per week, with Danny Reardon picking up a trip to USA Tool Fair for himself and his partner.
Franchise Manager Lesley Cobb said: “It means so much to us to celebrate the best in the network. We’re incredibly proud of the dedication our franchisees show day in, day out. It’s important that winning isn’t just about the financials – it’s about what it means to be part of the Mac family.
“Mike and Trevor are perfect examples of that, which is why they took the top awards, but all our winners thoroughly deserve their recognition. The competition gets tougher every year and we’re already seeing some amazing achievements in 2019. I’m looking forward to seeing who’ll be up on stage next March.”
